The class will focus on what to expect from your newborn and breasts within the first several weeks after your babies birth. Producing breast milk is natural, yet the art of latching and nursing the baby is a learned skill.
This class is taught by Certified Lactation Educators and Consultants and provides clear, accurate breastfeeding information for the "soon-to-be" new mother. We cover breastfeeding expectations, strategies for success and how to avoid complications. Topics include breastfeeding techniques, various nursing positions and comfort holds, diet considerations, nipple care, leaking, tips for Dad feedings, and the advantages of human milk over supplementation. Discussion includes the various breast pumps for purchase or rental. We answer all your questions, including the all-important one: "How do I know my baby is getting enough?" This is an interactive, 2-hour class and couples are encouraged to attend.
