« Preterm Labor Education & Physical Support Services
We have developed a preterm labor awareness class to provide new mothers with the opportunity to learn about early signs and symptoms of preterm labor. We take this very seriously because over the last decade the average rate for premature birth in the US has increased. In 1994, 11% of the infants born in the US were born prematurely, in 2004 this increased to 12.5%. The US objective for 2010 is 7.6%. We have a long way to go to help lower this to that degree (ref: March of Dimes PeriStats: www.marchofdimes.com ). To view a video on Preterm Labor, go to:

One way accomplish this is to educate women so they are aware of the warning signs of preterm labor. We intend to provide educational resources to as many women we can reach with this precious information. Not only to those women who are at high risk for preterm labor but to every pregnant woman. Any pregnant woman should be considered to have a risk for preterm birth. By the time you are having an ultrasound to determine if your baby is a boy or girl at 18-20 weeks you should be attending pregnancy preparation classes to educate yourself about preterm labor signs and symptoms. Preterm birth is defined as: any delivery that occurs prior to the 37th week of pregnancy. The earlier that you educate yourself the better prepared you will be for any complication that arises.
